The Biophysical Society and Congresswoman Barbara Lee (D-CA) will host Dr. Eva Nogales for a Congressional Briefing titled The Cryo-EM Revolution. Cryo-EM is a biophysical technique that can be used to determine the structure of biological molecules. The images generated by Cryo-EM have assisted researchers in visualizing the biological molecules of our cells, furthering our fundamental biology knowledge. However, the potential applications for the technology were limited, until recent breakthroughs.
